Was feeling somewhat creative this morning and threw together a few ingredients – et voila – a wonderfully thick green smoothy was created. Although, this smoothy is not for the faint-at-heart!! It has a very full flavour and would also make for a wonderful soup. If you are new to smoothies you may want to add more fruit, but if your taste buds have already adjusted to greens, I think you’ll love this one!! It’s chocked full of vitamins and the garlic really warms your insides and the banana/avocado give it a really nice creamy texture. We loved it!!
- 2 cups water (this amount was good for a soup like consistency, add a little more water if you want smoothy consistency)
- 1 avocado
- 1 banana
- 1 lemon (cut off rind)
- 3 stalks celery
- 2 broccoli stalks
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 2 big handfuls spinach
- 3 gloves garlic
Instructions: Add all ingredients to blender and blend on high until smooth.
Smoothy or Soup Option: Adjust water quantity to taste so that you have a smoothy or soup consistency, whichever you prefer.
