Ho! Ho! Ho! Tis the Season… Winter will be arriving any day now with a beautiful blanket of fluffy white snow… making if feel like Christmas! Woohoo, I can’t wait! I so love this time of year!
For those who have followed me for a while, you may know that I’m Danish blooded (although born in Canada) and we grew up with very strong Danish Christmas traditions in our home. Couple that with my German husband and we love LOVE to add some hyggelige coziness to our home through the month of December.
One way we do this, is via the 4 Sundays before Christmas – the 4 Advents!
Each Sunday we will enjoy a Christmas activity, here’s a sampling of what we do for the 4 Sundays before Christmas:
- for the 1st Advent I decorate the house and we enjoy a batch of Æbleskiver and wonderful Gløgg! Mmmmm… Both are plant-based recipes that are sure to be a hit with the whole family!
- the 2nd Advent I will do some baking and/or gift making. My favourite gifts? I make plant-based recipe goodies in a jar 😉
- the 3rd & 4th Advent, ummm, well, ummmm 😉 we repeat the 1st Advent with our fav plant-based Æbleskiver and Gløgg recipes and watch Christmas movies 😉
I’d love to hear what you do through the month of December, be sure to leave a comment below.
Here are a few of my favourite Christmas time recipes including our Danish treats, easy peasy meals during these busy times, great ideas for potlucks and a few sweet treats that your body will love! Enjoy!
That’s it that’s all for now! Enjoy the season with family & friends! xox
